My daughter is asking me to buy her one but I am afraid that it will damage her eyesight and affect vision. I want to know if this safe so I can decide whether to buy one or not.
How old is she? Oculus say no one under 13 but I’ve seen loads of young kids wearing them. I think it’s like anything tbh, you don’t want them to wear it for hours and hours but in reality, it’s kinda better than a TV or mobile screen as it’s not a fixed focal length, so it’s better for the eyes.
I know some people get nauseous from the VR headsets. Maybe let her try something out first? Just in case it doesn’t agree with her or she simply doesn’t like it.
Like timbooo said, I don’t think there will be any issue with it, maybe just get her to take regular breaks and everything should be fine
In my opinion I think it would be okay. if you try it out. If you know someone with VR headset let her try it for 1-2 hours. If there no problem then maybe you may buy one. Also, according to researchers, there is no evidence that long exposure to screens can cause permanent damage.
Thanks for all advice. Btw, she’s already 14 so I think I’m gonna let her have one. If it doesn’t work out then maybe my wife will have to play VR games as well. I really appreciate all your responses. 
I’ve been playing games more than 3/4 of my life. I have a very bad myopia, but I never regret the life I’ve chosen as a gamer. Well, I believe the techs before didn’t have that much stuffs about eye safety compared to what we have nowadays. So, yes. I guess she’s good to go.
